The base cabinet frame wound up being cheaper than I thought, only $41 so I picked it up. I need to get some wood to brace out the distance between the wall and the cabinet to make everything sturdy but I'm on my way to getting a quote for the counter top...it even is starting to look like the ikea planner pictures.

I used the Ikea kitchen layout software to make a rough outline of how I want my bar to look...sadly there are no features to put sinks or beer taps in the drawing but it gives a good idea about how to do the shelving and cabinets.

Best buy currently carries the perfect compact fridge for soda kegs, the Sanyo SR-4912m which holds 2 kegs with room to spare. I have seen a number of these with draft towers added to the top to make a standalone kegerator, however I plan to build a proper bar in my place, as soon as I can find/afford a suitable counter to go in the nook.



I thought it was going to be a little tight but it seems like this fridge was made with home brewers in mind.

Added another hobby to my catalog: Brewing I picked up a brewing kit with my birthday funds and begain my first batch of beer last Saturday.



Everything seems to be moving along, moved to the secondary fermenter last night, it smells like beer and is even alcoholic, but the yeast still needs to finish its work.

My new face is coming along nicely, I finally got a status update after some unforseen delays but its been worth the wait, I should be seeing the finished version any week now.
