My good friend Hali was visiting for the week between concert gigs and informed me that iMovie now has a time lapse record function, so what better way to test this than to watch some yeast turn wort into beer.

The cabinets went up rather easily, we got them hung just in time for the last poker night, I have to say it looks great.

I just made a trip to Ikea yesterday to get the parts to get the bar another step towards completion. The cabinets are now assembled, I just have to cut down the mounting bar and get them hung. This will finally give me a place to put all of the extra glassware and alcohol bottles that have been filling my kitchen cabinets and counters.

I have been considering some form of security system for awhile now, but I don't like the idea of paying a service fee to have someone watch my alarms for me, or the cost of installing a professional system. Recent events with a certain neighbor resulted in them threatening to cause damage to my car, while it is parked completely within my deeded space. The bandaid solution I've been working with has been using my .7 TB array to store 24/7 full frame video of my car. This uses alot of disk space as it is being recorded by a box designed to record tv shows. Parts are on order for a new system which I am testing with some existing hardware now. ZoneMinder is a free, feature loaded CCTV software package which I'm testing now, it does all the fun stuff like multiple cameras, integration with IP cameras, motion detection, event logging, notification, web streaming, etc. Above is a frame from a triggered event caused by someone driving onto the property.
